Mammal Survey
“Manly Dam bushland supports a diverse range of native mammals, but like many other areas of Australia, it has already lost a number of mammal species including koalas and platypus.”
Formal surveys and cross referencing of all reports by expert ecologists, including Dr. Brad Law, identified:
9 ground and tree based mammal species
11 bat species
There were 6 threatened species of mammals found to be living in the area including 5 bat species and the Eastern Pygmy Possum. Feral animals such as foxes, rats, cats and rabbits that compete with or predate on native species were also present.
